Best Luxury Hotels In Cortina d’Ampezzo

Embedded in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage site, this resort hosted the 1956 Winter Olympics, two Alpine Ski World Championships and the 2021 Alpine Ski World Cup. As such it offers some technically challenging pistes, along with beginner runs. But this resort has much more to offer than just snow and slopes. Come the warm weather, climbers and hikers flock to the beautiful peaks. George Clooney and Naomi Campbell have holidayed here and although it attracts many celebs, it’s by no means pretentious. Often referred to as the ‘pearl’ or ‘queen’ of the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo is a great choice for your upscale Italian skiing or summer break.

Faloria Mountain Spa Resort

Hotel
(5 stars)

Following a major redesign by architect Flaviano Capriotti in 2018, the Faloria Mountain Spa Resort has been reimagined with a palette of neutral colours and the prolific use of local wood and stone. The resulting building harmonises beautifully with the landscape and boasts a huge new spa, providing sensory journeys as well as a semi-Olympic pool covered in blue-green majolica tiles. 48 rooms are spread over three floors, with lashings of light coming through the huge picture windows. Take a seat in the Faloria Restaurant for views of the mountain Croda da Lago on one side and Cortina d’Ampezzo’s Olympic ski jump on the other.
