An opulent two-night journey follows Veuve Clicquot’s cultural footprint, following the shipping route of the first bottles in 1772. It begins in the Champagne House’s home of Reims and ends with a night’s stay at Cipriani, A Belmond Hotel, Venice.
The iconic champagne house, Veuve Clicquot, is inviting esteemed guests to celebrate its 250 years of undisputed savoir-faire with an unforgettable experience aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, A Belmond Train. Guests will depart for a unique and immersive journey, toasting the train’s relationship with Veuve Clicquot while indulging in exquisite pairing menus.
From sunrise in Reims to sunset in Venice
The voyage begins in Reims, with lunch at the Maison’s cuvées in the Veuve Clicquot Crayeres, hosted by cellar master Didier Mariotti. Then, after boarding the Orient-Express, guests will dress in their finery ahead of a four-course pairing dinner, curated by global restauranteur Jean Imbert. Veuve Clicquot anniversary celebrations will continue long into the night in Bar Car ‘3674’. Then, the following morning, as the train passes through the Alps, guests can watch the sunrise from their cabins and take the air during a stop at Innsbruck station. Upon arrival in Venice, guests’ are taken by boat to Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca Island, for the finale of the journey, the Sunset Ball and a sumptuous night’s stay.
Veuve Clicquot and Belmond
The voyage is indicative of Veuve Clicquot’s joie de vivre, embodied by the House’s signature sunburst-yellow colour. The champagne house was taken over by Madame Clicquot, one of the world’s first businesswomen, in 1805. Her culture of excellence and “only one quality, the finest” motto continues to this day.
Meanwhile, Veuve Clicquot’s collaborator, Belmond, has been a pioneer of luxury for over 45 years. Taking passengers on one-of-a-kind experiences in some of the world’s most inspiring destinations, the brand perpetuates the legendary art of travel, with breathtaking journeys. Now in possession of 46 splendid and immensely varied types of properties, Belmond (part of the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group) is a custodian of timeless heritage, dedicated to preserving assets such as the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, through sensitive restoration.
